Course Introduction
The main goal of this lecture is to inform members of the radiography community, who could potentially become mammogram technologists, about the field of mammography. In addition, there will be a brief discussion of standard mammographic terms and procedures.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
- Recall the American College of Radiology guideline for screening mammography
- Describe basic mammographic terms and procedures
- List several job duties of a mammographic technologist

Meet the Speaker
Megan Bybee, BS, RT(R)(M) holds a position at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis as an Acting Lecturer of Clinical Radiologic and Imaging Sciences. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Adult Education at Indiana University. Ms.Bybee has been a Radiologic Technologist since 2014 and a Mammographer since 2015. She previously developed and created an informational breast biopsy video for educational purposes and her speaking engagements include Importance of Mammographic Compression. She is a member in good standing for multiple professional organizations and serves as a student mentor and faculty guide for second year radiography students.
