Ended Dec 31, 2020
Full course description
Course Introduction
CT continues to push the boundaries of advanced medical imaging. Since its inception in the early ’70s, the modality has experienced numerous changes throughout its history. Image acquisition and post-processing gives CT a significant advantage over other modalities and continues to drive the field into the future. This presentation will discuss the process of image reconstruction as well as various post-processing techniques utilized today. The attendee can also expect to learn how radiographers play a vital role in creating diagnostic reformats and how future hardware/software applications will be utilized in hopes of increasing diagnostic efficacy.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
- Discuss the various steps involved in image reconstruction
- Give examples and discuss clinical applications of various post-processing techniques
- Recognize the role a radiographer has in producing diagnostic reformats
- Identify technology that has/will increase diagnostic efficacy
