Course Introduction
The purpose of this lecture is to cover a variety of infectious pathologies of the chest. Emphasis is placed on the latest information on COVID – 19 and the process of how it affects the chest. Other infections, such as tuberculosis and histoplasmosis, will also be covered.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
- Identify the pathogens that cause lung infections
- Discuss the effects of COVID -19 on the respiratory system
- Recognize the radiographic signs for the lung infections discussed

Meet the Speaker
Robert Tarver, MD is a radiologist at Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Health Hospital and a Fellow of the American College of Radiology. He received his Doctorate at Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his fellowship in Chest Imaging at Duke University Medical Center. He is a Professor of Radiology for Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Tarver published an extensive array of journal articles, abstracts, book chapters, and co-edited "Thoracic Radiology." He was an investigator for several research projects and a highly sought after invited speaker. Dr. Tarver is a Network for Excellence in Teaching Award recipient.
