Course summary:

Stress is inevitable; it's how we react to stressful situations that really makes the difference. Knowing what your stressors are and how to reduce the frequency and impact of stressful situations are the keys to stress management. Today's workforce is experiencing job burnout and stress in epidemic proportions. Workers at all levels feel stressed out, insecure, and misunderstood. Many people feel the demands of the workplace, combined with the demands of home, have become too much to handle. This course explores the causes of such stress and suggests general and specific stress management strategies that people can use every day.

This course will teach you some different ways to look at stress, ways to take care of yourself to reduce the stress that you feel, and coping techniques. You will also learn some time management and organizational tips to help you work smarter.

Course objectives:

After completing this course, learners should be able to:

  • Identify stress as a positive, unavoidable part of everybody's life.
  • Recognize the symptoms that tell you when you have chronic stress overload.
  • Change the situations and actions that can be changed.
  • Deal better with situations and actions that can't be changed.
  • Create an action plan for work, home, and play to help reduce and manage stress.
