Course Introduction

This course is designed to help caregivers understand their role in protecting themselves and the children in their care from bloodborne pathogen exposure. Please note that this course is required for RAPT participant licensure, and therefore no credit hours are awarded upon completion of the course.

Module Topics

This course covers the following topics:

  • Understanding Biological Characteristics of Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Understanding Factors Impacting Bloodborne Pathogen Transmission
  • Recognizing Common Precaution and Procedures to Limit Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Recognizing Protocols and Strategies for Managing Exposure and Post-Exposre Response

The Indiana Child Welfare Education & Training Partnership is designed to provide high quality social work education and statewide training for public child welfare employees. It provides BSW students with preparation for employment as a Family Case Manager; it allows DCS employees to enroll in the School's part-time MSW Program; and it provides state-of-the-art training to current DCS employees.
