Course Introduction

Supervisor Peer Lead is a hybrid training that gives experienced supervisors the knowledge they need to guide and support newly promoted supervisors as they complete Supervisor Core training and acclimate to the role. This training discusses the New Supervisor training requirements and reviews topics covered in Supervisor Core to allow Peer Leads to build upon the classroom training while in the field.

Module Topics

This course covers the following topics:

  • Understand the Supervisor Peer Lead role and expectations
  • Model effective leadership skills that integrate the DCS Practice Model to support new peers as they transition and acclimate to the supervisor role.

Meet the Designers

The Indiana Child Welfare Education & Training Partnership is designed to provide high quality social work education and statewide training for public child welfare employees. It provides BSW students with preparation for employment as a Family Case Manager; it allows DCS employees to enroll in the School's part-time MSW Program; and it provides state-of-the-art training to current DCS employees. This partnership is recognized nationally for its success and for its joint collaborative operation. Due to these efforts, Indiana is now seen as a model for the provision of public services that support children and families.
