About the Webinar

Furthering the commitment of Public Health & YOU to provide education on a wide variety of public health topics, we’re pleased to introduce our new webinar series. Each month, you’ll learn from an IU School of Public Health-Bloomington expert about a specific public health topic. Our goal is to foster community engagement in public health and provide important, relevant and useful information to those in our community.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this webinar, you will be able to:

  • Define human trafficking.
  • Identify general data regarding human trafficking and child exploitation in Indiana.
  • Explain the risk factors and red flags that indicate a potential victim.
  • List ways that the Indiana Trafficking Victims Assistance Program (ITVAP) can assist agencies and individuals.

Meet the Instructors

Dr. Deborah Getz

Dr. Deborah Getz, CYC-P is Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Applied Health Science in the IU School of Public Health-Bloomington. Her focus is on preparing high-quality youth work professionals, creating safe physical and electronic environments for youth, personal financial education and leadership development. Allen Bell, BS

Allen Bell is the ITVAP Area 7 Reginal Coalition Coordinator through the Indiana Youth Services Association. In this current role, he educates service-delivery providers across the state to increase their ability to identify and serve youth who have been trafficked.
