Course Introduction

This course will guide you through how to take better notes for your classes--on readings, watching videos, and in class.  It will specifically guide you through the Cornell method developed by Dr. Walter Paulk.  Research has shown that note-taking improves learning. 

Course Objectives

After completing this course,  you will be able to:

  • Summarize the importance of note-taking in college (lecture, reading, research)

  • Distinguish between effective note-taking and less effective note-taking

  • Demonstrate an understanding of how to take notes using the Cornell note-taking method
