Full course description
Course Introduction
This course is a two-part series:
- The first part will provide certified child passenger safety technicians with an overview of challenges related to transporting children with special health care needs. It will primarily focus on passenger vehicles and available restraints, and will also include self-check assessments and open book quizzes and an open book exam.
- The second part of the course is an in-person session with Safe Travel for All Children instructors where you will get hands-on experience with the adaptive restraints, work through case studies, identify misuse situations, demonstrate positioning/harnessing in the adaptive restraints, and complete installation of the adaptive restraints.
After completing this course, you will be proficient in various medical conditions that may affect transportation, identifying the correct restraint, positioning/harnessing in the adaptive restraints, installation of adaptive restraints, and have resources to reference following the course.
