BUILD - Bowling and Billiards

Ended Jun 4, 2019

Full course description

Join us for a fun-filled week of bowling, adventure, and discovery as we teach your campers the fundamentals of bowling, while also experiencing many of the hidden gems at Indiana University!

Camp will run 8:00am - 4:00pm  daily.

This is the second of two summer camps offer by IMU Bowling & Billiards over the summer of 2018.

About the Event

These camps are designed for children 7-13 years old who are in good physical condition.

Bowling Instruction

Over the five days, campers will learn the basic skills needed to become lifelong bowlers. Each day, campers will be taught a new skill, with each skill building upon the previous, with the ultimate goal of having your child complete a full delivery by the final day of camp.

Recreational Play

This camp is meant to be FUN! After finishing up our 1.5 hours of instructional bowling for the day, campers receive 1.5 hours of recreational bowling play. During this time we turn on age appropriate music and our cosmic bowling lighting so campers can enjoy the FUN side of bowling, while our dedicated instructors encourage campers to practice the skills learned earlier to strengthen their abilities.

Field Trips

Each day, your campers will be taken to one of the hidden gems of the IU campus. Past locations include: Assembly Hall, Memorial Stadium, The Mathers Museum of World Culture, The Eskenazi Museum of Art, tour of a campus residence, IU Hilltop Gardens, IU Greenhouse, the IU Biology Department, IU Auditorium, and the IU Wylie House Museum. We ask that campers come each day with socks, closed toed shoes, and are prepared to walk either to our destinations or to the bus, depending on the distance of each destination.

Competitive Play

This is designed to teach campers the difference between recreational and competitive play. Campers will be put into teams where they will bowl one game per day to compete in a daily league. All play is done with the handi-cap bowling system. This allows campers of all ages and skill levels to compete on an even playing field. At the end of the week, the winning team will receive a special prize from IMU Bowling & Billiards.
