Full course description
WHO: Ryan Keller, Haley Shook, Matthew Kaiser, Anahi Santos
WHAT: Tour of Washington DC
Students will immerse themselves in both current and historical topics of the criminal justice field. The group will travel to the Holocaust Museum to learn about international crimes and the horrific impact those may cause. Additionally, we will visit the International Spy Museum where students will learn of intelligence gathering, both domestic and abroad. Furthermore, our hotel is close to the National Mall, which houses many of the Smithsonian Institute museums. Students will also have the opportunity to determine what they want to learn as they will have designated time to explore DC monuments of their choosing.
WHEN: April 12th – 16th, 2022
WHERE: Washington DC
WOW: This is the first time visiting our nation’s capital for all students except one, and the first time visiting an East Coast city for some as well. Students will be exposed to the culture of an international city while seeing displays and documents that bring topics discussed in class to life. Additionally, we may have the opportunity to meet with the security director of the Holocaust Museum to see their inner working, which --- unsurprisingly --- are extensive.
