About the Course
This course reviews the management and treatment of herpes simplex and zoster related eye disease, including topical and oral treatment options. Vaccinations for varicella and zoster will be discussed.Learning Objectives
- To review the clinical presentation of the ocular manifestations of herpes simplex and zoster
- To learn the appropriate topical or oral treatment and dosing for various forms of herpetic eye disease
- To review vaccinations available for varicella and zoster and their impact
Meet the Instructor
Anna Bedwell, OD, FAAO
Dr. Anna Bedwell started with the IU School of Optometry as a visiting clinical faculty member in 2011. She graduated from the IU School of Optometry in 2010. After graduation, she went on to complete a residency at San Francisco VA Medical Center focusing on ocular disease. Dr. Bedwell currently works with fourth-year optometry students at the Indianapolis Eye Care Center in the primary care clinic. Her interests include posterior segment disease in particular macular disease.
