Full course description

Special Summer Course - Starts June 1st

Course Overview

This is a special Summer 2023 version of the regular IUHS U.S. Government course. It is intended to be completed in 8 weeks, beginning on June 1 and ending on August 1, and will feature rapid grading and enhanced teacher feedback.

The course studies how people--including citizens and public officials (the president, members of Congress, and Supreme Court justices)--behave politically. Students briefly review the political history of the United States and its formation, then look at government at the federal, state, and local levels. Topics continue with international relations, comparative governments, and citizenship. Students can expect to learn  how individuals affect, and are affected by, the U.S. political system.

The course is designed for third or fourth-year high-school students.
