Special Summer Course - Starts June 1^st

Course Overview

 

This is a special Summer 2023 version of the regular IUHS Spanish II, Second Semester course. It is intended to be completed in 8 weeks, beginning on June 1 and ending on August 1, and will feature rapid grading and enhanced teacher feedback.

Continues Spanish II, First Semester, emphasizing speaking, listening to, reading, and writing the language. Culture study centers on Spain, the United States, the Dominican Republic, and Ecuador.

This course is designed for second year high-school students or higher.

Prerequisite

Three semesters of high-school Spanish.

Required Materials

The only required textbook for this course is ¡Avancemos! Spanish 2, 2018 edition, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, ISBN-13/EAN: 978-0-544-86122-0. This is an online textbook, and is available for no extra cost for all registered students.

Students will need access to a computer with a microphone or a headset to record some assignments and may want to download and listen to MP3 files (iPod, MP3 player, computer with speakers or headphones). Students also need to record oral assignments on a computer, using a microphone or headset, and then upload their audio files (read Creating Spoken Audio Files on Your Computer).
