Course Overview
This is a special Summer 2023 version of the regular IUHS Spanish I, Second Semester course. It is intended to be completed in 8 weeks, beginning on June 1 and ending on August 1, and will feature rapid grading and enhanced teacher feedback.
Continues Spanish I First Semester's introduction to the Spanish language and cultures through speaking, listening to, reading, and writing the language, with a focus on vocabulary and grammar. Cultural study centers on Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Argentina, and Costa Rica.
This course is designed for first year high-school students or higher.

Prerequisite
One semester of high-school Spanish.
Required Materials
The only required textbook for this course is ¡Avancemos! Spanish 1, 2018 edition, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, ISBN-13/EAN: 978-0-544-86121-3. This is an online textbook, and is available for no extra cost for all registered students.
Students will need access to a computer with a microphone or a headset to record some assignments and may want to download and listen to MP3 files (iPod, MP3 player, computer with speakers or headphones). Students also need to record oral assignments on a computer, using a microphone or headset, and then upload their audio files (read Creating Spoken Audio Files on Your Computer).How to Enroll
