Course Overview

An introductory study of United States history. Surveys colonial America, the American Revolution, development of the Constitution, awakening and early society, slavery, sectionalism, Civil War and reconstruction.

The course is designed for third or fourth year high-school students.

Prerequisite

None, but Diploma students should first take either two semesters of World History and Civilization or two semesters of Geography and History of the World.
