Course Overview

In this first semester of Introductory Biology you will explore such topics as the scientific method and systematic modeling, chromosomes, cells and living systems, homeostasis and bio-engineering, ecosystems. You will look at current biological discoveries and expand beyond the textbook through a multitude of additional explorations involving videos, interactive lab exercises and much more. This course is designed to meet both Indiana's state Biology I standards and the Next Generation Science Standards.

A key element of the course is the Evidence Notebook. This is where students gather evidence and notes related to what they are learning, as well as the place they organize and grow their  understanding of the different concepts covered in the lessons.

This course is designed for high-school sophomores or higher.
