Course Overview

This course, in combination with the subsequent semester course, is designed to help students achieve appropriate advanced placement and/or credit into the sequence of calculus courses offered at the college level. It will also prepare students for the AP Calculus BC exam given in May of each year. Topics covered include finding limits, differentiation techniques and their applications, and integration techniques and their applications.
This single semester covers all topics in the AP Calculus AB exam. Students with exceptional ability in math could consider preparing for the AP Calculus AB exam based on this one semester course.

The course is designed for high-school seniors.

Prerequisite

Two years of algebra, one year of geometry, and one year of precalculus that includes trigonometry.

Required Materials

High speed Internet connection (strongly recommended), graphing calculator (TI-89 strongly recommended), and access to a scanner (to submit work electronically).

We have an online textbook (OpenStax Calculus that is linked throughout the course.
