Full course description

Course Overview

This course consists of an introduction to present-day German and to selected aspects of the cultures of German-speaking countries. It also introduces students to German grammatical forms and their functions, develops listening comprehension skills, simple speaking proficiency, controlled reading skills and simple written compositions. Active oral participation required.
Duration of course enrollment is 36 weeks (252 days).

Students are required to provide evidence that they meet all ACP requirements/prerequisites (C or above grade on all prerequisites, GPA of 2.7 or higher) before proceeding with the course.

Completion of the entire course equates to the completion of German III, First Semester and German III, Second Semester. Two high school credits will be awarded, as well as 4 college credits.

Prerequisite

2.7 GPA; Two years high school German.

Students will need access to an audio/video recording device (smart phone, web-cam etc.) to record some assignments.
A German-English dictionary is also recommended.
