Course Overview

A chronological survey of American literature from 1645 to 1900. Considers the lives of authors and the societal forces that may have affected their writings. Students also read two modern plays about early American culture.

This course is designed for high-school juniors or seniors.

Prerequisite

English 9 and 10, and First Semester of American Lit. strongly suggested, but not required.
