Course Overview

This Advance College Project (ACP) course prepares students to communicate effectively with public audiences. Emphasizes oral communication as practiced in public contexts: how to advance reasoned claims in public; how to adapt public oral presentations to particular audiences; how to listen to, interpret, and evaluate public discourse; and how to formulate a clear response.
Successful completion counts as 3 college credits, 1 high school credit.
Duration of course enrollment is 18 weeks (126 days).

Students are required to provide evidence that they meet all ACP requirements/prerequisites (C or above grade on all prerequisites, GPA of 2.7 or higher) before proceeding with the course.

Prerequisite

2.7 GPA; Senior standing, or junior standing with a previous speech course.

There is a $42.00 charge for the eBook.

Students submit speeches as digital videos. Access to a digital video recorder required.
