Course Introduction

The IU East Richmond Chorale is a vocal ensemble for IU East students and community members. The Chorale gives 1-3 performances per semester on the IU East campus or in the surrounding region.

Rehearsal and Registration Information

This site is for community member registration. IU East students should register for MUS-X 70 this spring for either 0, 1 or 2 credits. Students can register by clicking here.

Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings in Vivian Auditorium in Whitewater Hall from 6-7:45pm. Rehearsals begin January 11. Community members can register until January 25. Concert date TBD.

Learning Outcomes

Participants in this course will be able to:

  • Analyze the structure and context of varied musical works and their implications for performance.
  • Develop personal interpretations that consider creators’ intent.
  • Evaluate and refine personal and ensemble performances, individually or in collaboration with others.
  • Perform expressively, with appropriate interpretation and technical accuracy, and in a manner appropriate to the audience and context.

Course Learning Outcomes are taken from the National Association for Music Education 2014 Standards for Ensembles.

Instructor Bio

Alison Moore is a D.A. student in vocal performance and choral conducting at Ball State University. She also holds a M.M in voice performance from Wichita State University. Alison has taught voice lessons at the collegiate level and privately for more than 10 years. She has conducted collegiate, intermediate and community choirs.
