Course Summary
This specialized course is designed to equip juvenile correctional facility staff with foundational knowledge and practical tools for recognizing and supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in secure settings. Participants will explore the core characteristics of ASD, understand behavioral functions, and learn evidence-based strategies tailored to correctional environments. Through scenario-based learning and real-world applications, the course emphasizes safety, communication, and individualized support empowering staff to foster more inclusive, responsive, and trauma-informed care within juvenile justice system.
