Course summary:
One of the most commonly used recreational drugs in the world is cannabis. No matter what the legal status of using cannabis is where you live and work, employees who are under the influence of the drug can become an issue in your workplace. This course will help you develop the skills and knowledge to mitigate the risks to safety and lost productivity, and to create a policy to protect employees from harm and the organization from loss.
Course objectives:
After completing this course, learners should be able to:
- Describe what cannabis and other forms of cannabis are and how they are used.
- Describe how cannabis use affects a person physically, cognitively, and behaviorally.
- Recognize the signs of cannabis impairment.
- Define the potential issues cannabis use creates in the workplace.
- Understand the legal rights of employers and employees with regards to cannabis use in the workplace.
- Respond to incidents of suspected cannabis use in the workplace.
- Develop a proactive workplace drug and alcohol policy.
