Course summary:

Surveys are an important tool for park and recreation agencies to better understand the perceptions, attitudes, behaviors, and desires of the communities they serve. Surveys can inform a park and recreation agency on the public perception of the agency itself, a particular park or facility, or a future park or facility. In this course you will learn about why you should use surveys, how to construct an effective survey, and how to use the data you collect via surveys to make smart decisions.

Course objectives:

After completing this course, learners should be able to:

  • Describe the value of surveys and data.
  • Describe the process of constructing a quality survey.
  • Describe how to properly conduct survey research.
  • Explain how to apply survey data to your organization.

Recommended background:

This course is intended for park and recreation agency employees, but may be applicable to those in similar fields. There are no required prerequisites to take this course.
