Course Introduction

This course identifies the basic elements of trauma-informed care and how it impacts success. We define trauma and trauma-informed care and review the history of trauma-informed care. We review best practices, cultural considerations, and explore why caregiver wellness is important.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
    • Define trauma and identify different types of traumas.
    • Identify the components of Trauma-informed Care.
    • Explain why Trauma-informed Care was established.
    • Describe the best practices in Trauma-informed Care.
    • Explain how Trauma-informed Care can assist individuals who have experienced trauma.
    • Identify cultural considerations when using Trauma-informed Care.
    • Outline strategies for caregiver wellness.

Enrollment Details

This course will be offered four times each year. The cost is $99.00.

Registration for each course will open in the month prior to training.  Earn professional development credits (CE units, CRCs, PGP hours) upon course completion. The course takes approximately 5 hours to complete.

Trainees can move through content modules at their own pace within the course timeframe. Trainees are allowed to finish the course prior to its conclusion date.
