Course Introduction
This course is designed to provide basic skills training to employment service professionals in the field of disability. The course is valuable for employment service personnel who have been in the field for several years or are just beginning their careers in the field.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:- Understand the eight qualities/habits for wholehearted job development.
- Understand why job search preparation strategies are essential to the job search process.
- Reflect on the issues of job seekers’ readiness, motivation and empowerment through the ladder of commitment.
- Identify how to use the employment proposal in the job seeking process.
- Learn numerous ways to initiate contact with employers develop partnerships and understand how to think like an entrepreneur.
- Understand how to make the shift from sales to the partnership paradigm of job development including learning the use of effective employer assessment and managing challenging questions.
- Understand essential principles to assist in the experience of resolving employer concerns.
- Understand the difference between employer satisfaction and high-quality services.
- Be able to implement learning strategies for building skills and positive attitudes in job seekers.
- Understand how to maintain effectiveness through out the job seeking process.
Enrollment Details
This course will be offered four times each year. The cost is $225.00.

- October 5-December 1
Registration for each course will open in the month prior to training. Earn professional development credits (CE units, CRCs, PGP hours) upon course completion. The course takes approximately 50 hours to complete.
