Full course description
This workshop is devoted to preliminary considerations in seeking and applying for external funding to support research and scholarship in the humanities. Topics to be discussed include motivations for applying for grant funding, defining research and scholarship goals, matching research and scholarship goals to specific funding agencies, understanding how funding agencies operate, and basic procedures for applying for funding. The session will consist of a brief presentation followed by an open discussion with a panel of faculty members who have been successful in receiving grants to support their research and scholarship in the humanities. Participants are welcome to bring a lunch to the session.
