What is this course?

Radiation Safety Orientation is required for all new radioactive materials users on the IUPUI campus and at associated facilities (e.g., various IU Health, Eskenazi Health and VA facilities).  This orientation reviews the fundamentals of radiation safety in the laboratory, discusses radiation safety services and emphasizes radiation safety procedures that are specific to the University.

Who should attend this course?

This course is required for all new radioactive materials users on the IUPUI campus.  If you are location on the IU Bloomington campus, please be sure to select the training entitled "Radiation Safety Orientation - Bloomington."

Are there any prerequisites?

All new radioactive materials users need to submit an "A-3 Authorization to Use Radioactive Materials" form to the IUPUI Radiation Safety Office before attending this training.  This form can be found on our website.  In addition, depending on your past training and experience with radioactive materials, registrants may also need to attend the 5-Day Radiation Safety Course.
