For the safety and protection of the trainee,  IACUC approval & EH&S online & N95 fit testing is now required prior to attending  R3 LARC Chemical Hazard Use in Animals training.  Once enrolled the trainee will be notified within 24 to 48 hours to see if training can proceed.  Those who are not IACUC approved or have not completed EH&S requirements, will be withdrawn from the course.  After IACUC approval and completion of EH&S requirements, it will be up to the associate to register for this class.  R3 Basic Orientation & R3 ABSL2 Training is a facility required prerequisite and must be taken prior to R3 LARC Chemical Hazard Use in Animals training. 

What is this course about?

This is a hour long course that will cover the procedures and processes which are required when working in the Chemical Hazard animal housing room at the LARC R3 Facility. The course will include demonstration and discussion on personal protective equipment, traffic flow patterns, labeling requirements, and handling/disposal of dirty cages.

Who should attend this course?

This course will be most useful for any research faculty and staff needing access to the Chemical Hazard room in the LARC R3 facility.

What are the prerequisites for this course?

The LARC Basic Orientation Training course is a required pre-requisite. LARC Chemical Hazard Training is required for access to the NB facility hazardous chemical room. Please sign up for this class at least 24 hours in advance. Along with LARC required training training, you are also required to complete a N95 fit test, N95 & PAPR online & paper training.
