Enroll in the  12/31/24 11am-noon class date.  After enrolling visit  Canvas.IU.edu to complete the online assignments and quiz.  After obtaining 100% on the quiz, email kszilagy@iu.edu and cobreau@iu.edu to schedule the in-person training session/tour.  

What is this course about?

This is a 2 hour course that will cover the procedures and processes which are required when working in the Animal Biosafety Level 2 (ABSL2) animal housing rooms at the LARC R3 Facility. The course will include demonstration and discussion on personal protective equipment, traffic flow patterns, labeling requirements, and handling/disposal of dirty cages.

Who should attend this course?

This course will be most useful for any research faculty and staff who need access to the ABSL2 rooms in the LARC R3 facility

The LARC R3 Facility Basic Orientation Training course is a required pre-requisite. LARC  R3 ABSL-2 Training is required for rodent R3 ABSL2 housing access. Please sign up for this class at least 24 hours in advance.

Helpful Tips

The LARC ABSL2 Training courses are facility specific. You are required to register and attend multiple basic training courses if the research animals you'll be working with are housed in more than one facility.

If the course location is listed as TBA (to be announced), this means that the course location will be announced to participants by the instructor prior to or day of class time.

A University ID is required.
