For the safety and protection of the trainee,  IACUC approval is now required prior to attending LARC NB ABSL2 training.   

Prior to attending the NB ABSL2 training you must also have attended the LARC NB Facility Basic Orientation in-person training 

What is this course about?

This is an hour course that will cover the procedures and processes which are required when working in the biohazard  animal housing rooms at the LARC Facility. The course will include a discussion on personal protective equipment, traffic flow patterns, labeling requirements, and handling/disposal of dirty cages.

Who should attend this course?

This course will be most useful for new research faculty and staff.

What are the prerequisites for this course?

The NB Facility LARC Basic Orientation Training course is a required prerequisite. LARC NB ABSL2 Training is required for  housing access. Please sign up for this class at least 24 hours in advance.

Helpful Tips

The LARC NB ABSL2  Training courses are facility specific. You are required to register and attend multiple basic training courses if the research animals you'll be working with are housed in more than one facility.

If the course location is listed as TBA (to be announced), this means that the course location will be announced to participants by the instructor prior to or day of class time.

A University ID is required.
