Psychological First Aid

Ended May 18, 2018

Full course description

This is a 2 hour class.  Psychological first aid is the immediate psychological support offered to someone in the aftermath of a disaster or personal tragedy. Much like medical first aid doesn’t require a medical license, psychological first aid doesn’t require advanced mental health degrees. Much like medical first aid, it is designed to help prioritize the needs of an individual and get them to the appropriate resources. This course utilizes the RAPID model developed at Johns Hopkins University and will provide additional informational resources as well as share additional learning opportunities.

Facilitator: John Summerlot
