Course Introduction

All employees with occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens shall participate in a training program.  Training shall be provided to all existing Indiana University employees initially and annually as long as the occupational exposure is still a risk of the employee's job.  New employees shall participate in a training program at the time of initial assignment to tasks where occupational exposure may take place.  Indiana University staff may receive annual training online through E-Training. In class training is performed for initial training and annual refresher upon special request.

Learning Outcomes

After completing the module, you will:

  • Fulfill the training requirement of the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, which requires employers to make employees aware of the requirements as outlined in the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard.
