Orientation for Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors is the introductory training in a series of courses for both new and seasoned VR professionals and staff. VRLA, created by the Center on Community Living and Careers in conjunction with Indiana Vocational Rehabilitation Services, provides training and professional development to VR staff and others working in the field of disability services.

Course Overview

Orientation for Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors is an introductory  competency-based training course for new VRCs. The content is based on the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) standards of practice and the federal and state policy and procedure requirements for VR counselors who work in Indiana. Counselors will learn about the field of disability services, the roles and responsibilities of counselors, how to support individuals with disabilities in finding and keeping employment, and the VR processes counselors use.
