Course Introduction

Looking for a way to make your course content more accessible? The content in this Canvas course will enable you to build effective navigation, select more accessible content, and evaluate your existing content using a tool called Anthology Ally.

This course is made for anyone looking to improve the accessibility of their Canvas site or course.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Create effective course navigation
  • Select more accessible content for use in the course
  • Recognize the Ally symbol in your Canvas course
  • Use Ally feedback and workflow to make suggested changes in your Canvas course
  • Explain to students how they can access the alternative formats and use them

About ATAC and OIE

This course was created by the UITS Assistive Technology and Accessibility Centers (ATAC) and the Office of Institutional Equity to support Indiana University’s commitment to providing accessible programs and services for its students, departments, and faculty.

The ATAC partners with campus disability services to offer assistive technology and IT accessibility consultations, presentations, training, and support across Indiana University.

The Office of Institutional Equity was created in 2018 to support and advise the efforts of officers on all IU campuses in ensuring a diverse and equitable work and academic environment for all members of the university community.
