Course Introduction

Do you want to make more inclusive / accessible documents but have heard it is difficult and takes a lot of time? This course will introduce easy to learn techniques that handle most document accessibility concerns, make editing more efficient, and increase opportunities for how students engage with them.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Use simple techniques to create more inclusive digital course materials
  • Understand the basics of how students with disabilities use assistive technologies to access digital materials
  • Understand how features in accessible digital materials increase opportunities for everyone to engage with them
  • Use the same techniques to increase efficiency creating and editing digital materials

About ATAC and OIE

This course was created by the UITS Assistive Technology and Accessibility Centers (ATAC) and the Office of Institutional Equity to support Indiana University’s commitment to providing accessible programs and services for its students, departments, and faculty.

The ATAC partners with campus disability services to offer assistive technology and IT accessibility consultations, presentations, training, and support across Indiana University.
